The government should do more to help drug addicts. Do you agree?
In Madrid there are many problems related with drugs. Teenagers are more likely than adults to get into them, because they don't get many information and they start for showing off. Normally the most affected areas are poor neighbourhoods like Chueca, Vallecas...
The government has proposed to help drug addicts, but not everyone agree. Firstly, some people think that taking drugs is a crime and drug addicts should be put in prison. Secondly, the think that it's not their problem, so they don't agree spending their money helping these people. Finally, people also think that drug addiction is just an habit, and addicts can give up when they want to.
However, there are people who agrees and think that addicts should have help to give up, like rehabilitation centres or activities to trying forget the drugs and spend time in something more productive, so if this doesn't happens the number of drug addicts will increase a lot. Getting drugs is usually linked to other risky behaviours and addicts become more aggresive, lonely and less sociable.
We agree because we must stop this problem, it's better for everyone. The Government should control more the entrace of drugs and develope an special information programme to show the consecuences by buying or getting drugs. They should also get easier the possiblity of entering in rehabilition centres for addicts.
